Question 1: Where is the Tumescent Liposculpting Performed?

Answer: This is an in office procedure. Oral medications are used to decrease nervousness (anxiety) before the procedure.

Question 2: What is the recovery period?

Answer: The recovery time varies with how many areas are treated and the type of activity the patient intends to resume. Most procedures are done on Friday and Saturday and usually one can return to work on Monday. Extra-Strength Tylenol is usually sufficient to control post-op pain.

Question 3: Will there be bandages?

Answer: Special absorbent pads are placed over the incision sites. Special compression garments are worn under clothing for 2 weeks. For the abdomen, a binder is used for a minimum of 4 days.

Question 4: Will the fat return?

Answer: No. When fat cells are removed from a treated area they do not return. Liposculpting surgery is, indeed, the only true spot reducer. The patient's new, more pleasing silhouette is permanent.

Question 5: What will happen to the excess skin?

Answer: The SmartLipo MPX will help improve skin tightening. Skin is a dynamic elastic organ which will react and reaccommodate to the new body contour.

Question 6: When will I notice the results?

Answer: About 90% of patients can actually see at least some improvement in their silhouette by 1-2 weeks after surgery. Ultimate results following liposculpting usually require 3 to 6 months to be achieved.
